Operating principle:
Cold treatment through short-wave ultraviolet irradiation.
The low-pressure mercury vapour contained inside the lamp, when subjected to an electrical discharge, emits short-wave radiation, approximately 90% of which is concentrated at a wavelength of 253.7 nm. At high frequencies, the lamp also produces visible bluish light.
Maximum germicidal effectiveness is achieved at approximately 253.7 nm. A lower level of radiation is emitted at 185 nm, producing a slight amount of ozone with a deodorising effect.
Germicidal Action
